Nausha Farmaiye is a Ghalib-inspired mehfil where we'll celebrate his poetry and his love for mangoes through food and performance. Nausha Farmaiye is a word play on 'nosh farmaiye' which means come and feast, and Nausha which was Ghalib's nickname. In this mehfil, we welcome you to come and regale in some of his ghazals sung live by trained classical singer Anjan Mehrotra, recitation of his mango masnavi 'daar-sifat-e-amba' and other beautiful couplets, share your own favourite couplets of Ghalib, and enjoy a menu that, hopefully, he would've loved too.

“I was introduced to Mirza Ghalib as a six-year-old through the Doordarshan series directed by Gulzar. I couldn't understand anything but I remember being drawn to his poetry. Ghalib was a constant part of my growing up years mainly through his ghazals sung by Jagjit Singh. But a few years ago, I got hooked on him when I fell in love, first with a man who understood and quoted Ghalib and then with Ghalib himself. Since then one of my life's goals is to read and understand Ghalib's works. So when I decided to revive The Literary Table, it felt natural to bring together all my loves - food, books and Ghalib.” — Shirin Mehrotra, The Literary Table.
