The Partition of 1947 didn't just redraw borders. It made people choose — what to carry, what to leave, and who to become on the other side.
What they carried, more often than not, was memory. And memory, cooked, becomes a recipe that survives displacement. It travels light, asks for very little, and somehow still tastes like home.
Sadaf Hussain builds a table around these inheritances — shola, carried from Peshawar; khatto bhaat, from Sindh; sohan halwa, from Multan, among many others.
